How To Search for and Edit an Access Control (RFID, Key FOB, Proximity Card, Barcode, PIN, or Mobile) Credential
As an administrator of the TekControl Portal, there may be instances where you will need to identify and/or edit an access control credential. In order to do so, you will need to be a site administrator or higher to access this feature.
Logged in as a Site Administrator or higher user, access the TekControl Web Portal: https://webapp.tekcontrol-site.com/
In the navigation bar, click on Administration, which will give you a drop-down where you can access General Administration. Click on General Administration to be brought to the Site Administration page.
If you are a client administrator, you will need to select the specific site in the top right.
You are now on the General Site Administration page.
Scroll down the page and locate Access Control Settings.
In this group, locate Access Credentials(s).
Click to open up a new window interface.
This window has several options to search for a credential.
The most simple way is to use the search feature to find the exact credential using its serial number.
Note: Many credentials will start with SN or will have 3 digits (027) in front of the credential number. These will not be needed to locate the credential. You will only need to search for the number which will be 5 digits or less.
Examples:
SN06504 = 6504
027 42356 = 42356
00037 = 37
You may also search for a credential by its association with a host or resident.
Associations may be hosts, employees, vendors, or vehicles.
There are other ways to search for a credential such as:
- by Valid Date
- by Expiration Date
- by Card Format
- by Credential Type(Proximity Card, PIN, Barcode, RFID, Key FOB, Mobile Credential)
- by Access Group
Once you locate the credential, you may double-click, or click the 3 dots for a drop-down to edit to bring up a new window where you may edit/change the credential.
In this window, you may change specifics to the credential as needed. Any changes made here that are saved will be automatically saved to the controller and system.
You may select the association to the credential to an existing:
- Host
- Vendor
- Employee
- Host Vehicle
- Vendor Vehicle
- Alternative Association
Note: If the Association does not exist, you will have to create it prior to associating with a credential.
You may also adjust the Access Group for this credential in this window by double-clicking the group or selecting the arrows.
The credential must be set to active for it to function, located at the top right:
Once all changes are complete, make sure you click save to preserve the changes.
