This tutorial shows how to assign a credential to a host after it has been issued to them. This tutorial assumes the credential has already been added to the system (i.e. as part of a bulk load when credentials are ordered, or was previously in use).
1. Navigate to the TEKControl Web Portal and log in as an admin-level user.
2. Click "Administration"
3. Click "General Administration"
4. Scroll to the Access Control Settings section, and click "Access Credentials."
5. Click the "Search" field.
6. Enter the credential number for the credential that is being issued. For this tutorial, we are assigning a credential with Facility Code 99 and credential number 45046. The FC and Credential Number will be printed on the credential itself, or on the packaging the credential came in.
7. Double-click the credential to open it for editing.
8. If it is not already active, make sure the "Active?" checkbox is enabled. If not checked, the credential will not grant access.
9. Select the Valid Date and Expiration Date (if there is one) using the calendar icons next to each date and time. If a credential is being used immediately, set the date one day back to account for any time/clock differences between your computer and the controllers.
10. Click "Select Associated Host" and either type or select the host the credential is being assigned to. If the credential is being assigned to one of their vehicles, select it from the "Select Associated Host Vehicle" dropdown after selecting a host.
11. Click on the host that is being issued the credential.
12. To assign an access group to the credential, either double click on the access group in the box on the left, or click and use the arrows to move them to the active side on the right.
13. After ensuring the Access Group(s) on the right side is the correct one(s) for that host, click "Save." Saving the credential will automatically push the credential to all associated controllers and is ready for use.
