How To create an Access Control Schedule
As an administrator of the TekControl Portal, there may be instances where you will need to create a new Access Control Schedule. In order to do so, you will need to be a site administrator or higher to access this feature.
Logged in as a Site Administrator or higher user, access the TekControl Web Portal: https://webapp.tekcontrol-site.com/
In the navigation bar, click on Administration, which will give you a drop-down where you can access General Administration. Click on General Administration to be brought to the Site Administration page.
If you are a client administrator, you will need to select the specific site in the top right.
You are now on the General Site Administration page.
Scroll down the page and locate Access Control Settings.
Select Schedule(s) to open a sidebar with scheduling options.
The first tab labeled "Holidays" are for entering date-specific settings for a schedule.
The second tab labeled "Schedule Settings" is for creating or editing schedules.
You may apply specific schedules for particular holidays and add them to a schedule that will apply the Holiday hours to particular dates.
To create a new schedule you will need to fill in the following information:
- Name
- Description(optional)
- External ID (must be a number not already in use)
- Holidays to Include(optional)
- Day of the Week*
- Start Hour, Minute, Second (24-Hour Format)
- End Hour, Minute, Second (24-Hour Format)
* There are buttons at the bottom to set a schedule for the week/weekday. You may set a start Hour/Minute/Second and an End Hour/Minute/Start and click "Add to Schedule - All Week" or "Add to Schedule - Week Days" to apply them to the schedule. Select a day of the week for more granular scheduling options.
Once you have filled in all the necessary information for your schedule, click "Save Schedule" to preserve the changes.
The newly created schedule can now be selected in the drop-down to confirm it was successfully saved to the system.
Once the schedule has been created, select the controller(s) at the bottom of the panel that will need to use that schedule (best practice is to send to all controllers) and then click "Push All Holidays/Schedules To Controller" to send the schedules to that controller. *NOTE: This is done individually, so select a controller, click Push, then select the next one, click Push, etc.
You have successfully created an Access Control Schedule and pushed it to the controller. You may now apply them to any access group and/or readers.
