How To Assign an Access Control (RFID, Key FOB, Proximity Card, Barcode, PIN, or Mobile) Credential from Access Control Settings
As an administrator of the TekControl Portal, there may be instances where you will need to add a new access control credential. In order to do so, you will need to be a site administrator or higher to access this feature.
Logged in as a Site Administrator or higher user, access the TekControl Web Portal: https://webapp.tekcontrol-site.com/
In the navigation bar, click on Administration, which will give you a drop-down where you can access General Administration. Click on General Administration to be brought to the Site Administration page.
If you are a client administrator, you will need to select the specific site in the top right.
You are now on the General Site Administration page.
Scroll down the page and locate Access Control Settings.
In this group, locate Access Credentials(s).
Click to open up a new window interface.
It is advised you search for the credential to verify it is not already in the system, See here to search for an Access Control Credential.
On the top right, you will see the option to add a new credential.
Clicking will open a new window where you may add a new Access Control Credential.
The required fields are as follows:
- Credential Number(s)*
- Credential Format**
- Credential Type(RFID, Key FOB, Proximity Card, Barcode, PIN, or Mobile Credential)
- Valid From Date
- Access Group
* Note: Many credentials will start with SN or will have 3 digits (027) in front of the credential number.
** Note 2: It may depend on your installation, you may see your associated FC (Facility Code) here along with the card format.
Here you may add one or more credentials at a time. Input the 5-digit number for the credential.
If you wish to add multiple credentials, you may set a range to add in bulk.
Fill in any additional information including the required credential type, valid from date, and access group.
* Make sure to check Active or the credential WILL NOT WORK!
Ensure the information is accurate, click save to preserve the data, and push it through the system. Any changes saved here will automatically be immediately uploaded.
